Victor Lebron grew up in the U.S. Virgin Islands, learning to ride his father’s show horses near the family home in St. Croix.  He is now creating a stir by winning 28 races in less than a month at well known tracks such as Ellis Park and Turfway Park this summer.  To read more click here.

In other news crime is becoming a serious problem in the Caribbean as the killing of a newly-wed doctor in Antigua has created a PR mess for Caribbean tourism.  At the same time the BVI plans to recruit seven former UK officers to help fight crime in the BVI.  How will all of this affect the V.I.?

In more positive news, a rap song by Ludacris criticising Barack Obama’s opponents has been called “outrageously offensive” by the Obama campaign (although Obama’s probably jammin’ it all now in Air Force 1).
